This week we had a mini heatwave. Yup, the thermometer thing went all the way up to 37c and it was, for a whole three days, officially very hot. From the Upper Much-Mousing parish records, I can safely tell you that the only time things got any hotter was when there was a fire in the Parish Council Records Offices. That was one of the reasons why they disbanded village AA society —Arsonists Anonymouse!
Anyways, here you can see yours truly keeping a weather eye on the weather, and just in case anyone, namely spiders, tried to sneak back into the gamekeepers cottage. Mrs H thought the colours on this looked very 70's. Me I was aiming for low 80's with a hint of a breeze and a long nap and a cool drink, MOL
I hope you like my slightly retro selfie this week. Thankfully no 'flares' in evidence but I did keep my eyes open just in case there was any 'peace pipes' being passed around by the village gardening society ;)

You are all having it seriously warm in the UK right now! Take care and keep hydrated (this means water as well as mice!)
ReplyDeleteToo hot too cold or too wet; seems to be the order of the days. Climate change is real contrary to what presidents and politicians say.

We saw, on TeeVee, what hot weather you are having in the UK. Mummy says She can't remember it effur getting that hot when She used to live there. Why, it was hotter there than over here - and we're used to hot weather all summer, effurry summer!
ReplyDeleteIt is sad we have it so hot and for such a short length of time: days only. Not like decades past, for sure.
DeleteCooling purrs

I'm sure glad you are getting a bit cooler temps. Your selfie is most adorable sweet Princess!
ReplyDeleteThank you, and yes, cooler is better—but the torrential rain not so much, Mol

Oh, Erin, we also know all about the temperatures, but with a little luck, like we had yesterday, it may end soon, so you can take a nother breather...and mousie maybe, until then stay put for the mousies, they might be running into your paws when it's starting to rain cats and dogs...MOL :D Excellent retro Selfie! COOL Pawkisses for a cooler week ahead🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteThank you, yes staying cool is the order of the day, shopping and work only at night, MOL
DeleteTidal waves of rain came Sunday then back to twenties, cloud and wind today. Oh we long for normal weather. . . .

I agree, Erin, the weather has been very uncomfortable lately. Today though has been much cooler with a lovely breeze.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very nice selfie.
Lots of Rain Sunday, warm Monday but set to rain again today. Boy I just can't keep up with the weather these days, MOL

We feel for you! It was over 40° here on Thursday! Thankfully, it has cooled down now. We hope it is the same for you.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Tama and Genji
Oh boy, that is far hotter than we got to. Rained latter though, got sunny again then back to rain today. Relief from the heat is coupled with the disappointment of a horrid wasted summer.

Loving your retro selfie!
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been very evil indeed. Glad it's cooler now.
Thank you. Yes, aircon and the rain—not floods— makes these things bearable and the way our futures will be.

I love this selfie. You are a beautiful princess. XO
ReplyDeleteThank you,Mrs H likes the head shot better than the whole body shot.

Oh Princess, I like that you are a modern lady, who isn't afraid to show off a retro flare on occasion. I will wave my paws very fast to create breezes that I hope will reach you across the ocean and cool you and your village down. If the rains are to shower my backyard I will collect them in a bottle and float them your way so you can water the nip plants in your palace proper. Luv from Your Prince, V
ReplyDeleteMy sweet prince ofdark floofiness, any breeze or rain wafted from you will be sent from paradise. . . . if you can manage to send a nice plump mouse, too, that would be awesome ;)
DeleteStay safe and we hopes your staff will be home soon.

Beautiful selfie ! We hope the temperatures cool down soon, we're melting just like you ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteYes, it is set to be in the twenties— then rains and pours all day and night. So mixed up nobody knows what to wear, except us cats, MOL
DeletePurrs
ERin
Erin, what an excellent job of patrolling your territory, and hope the cooler weather has already come to visit!
ReplyDeleteThank you, That was about as far as I got during the heatwave, MOL
DeleteRain came in waves the next day and floods too. So much for a Summer—even a British one isnt usually this bad, MOL

ERin
It's just over now this heatwave ! Even for the cats it was too hot ! Now it cooled down by half from one day to the other. Not good for the health !
ReplyDeleteAhh, yes the ups and down ae so stressful and confusing. All cool and wet then humid here in the Uk—such a mess. Maybe next year will be better?
DeletePurrs
ERin
I love how the edges of your selfie fade to black! Mrs H is taking such wonderful pictures!
ReplyDeleteWell I do play an important part, too ;)
DeleteMrs H says it is my natural charm, coupled with Mac Software . . . which I think means something to do with my fur and her soft cardigan :)

ERin
Ooooooo! I do likes the swingin' 70's look! I thinks all you needs is a paisley bandanna! BOL! Geez, I hopes it cools down for you soon ~ that is WAY too hot fursure! You can come on overs here til it does and have a margarita with me! Or a Niptini ~ I can make both pretty well.
ReplyDeleteStay cool my furiend!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Hmm, paisley sounds good. I shall search Mrs H's stuff and see if I can maybe make a scarf out of one of her classic 70's items ;)
DeleteNow the offer of margaritas, if they still stand, I'll be over asap. As we have turned cold now, maybe you could serve them hot? MOL
