Hello, and welcome to the 5th selfie of the New Year.
In the spirit of keeping fit, and helping the invalid get better – you know, fresh air and the like – I have had Mrs H out and about, doing housekeeper-style things: gardening, cleaning the guttering, shopping and sweeping the slime off the flagstone courtyard. I can now definitely confirm that a torrential downpour and a broom is no substitute for a pressure washer, plus you have to dry your housekeeper out too!
Anyways, on with the show!
Mrs H is back in her bed and drying out, and I was ministering to her needs. In this week's selfie, you can see me making sure the invalid's water was the right temperature and depth. Later I shall be adding a goldfish to make sure the jug stays clean, and to provide Mrs H with some entertainment whilst in bed . . .
Thank you for visiting us this week. If you have any advice, hints and tips on the best aquatics for a small moveable pond, aka a jug, please do rush them to me via the comments section below. I promise I will spend the rest of next week testing them out on Mrs H – the ones she doesn't swallow or choke on will be the winners.
PS. I did suggest saltwater life forms but Mrs H said the salt part would make her sick; sounds like freshwater crabs it is! MOL
To see what our international blogging pals have been up to this week to help their staff, be it wrangling jellyfish and squid in the bathtub, or just plain old checking the taps (faucets in the USA) for leaks, then please click the links below, and enjoy the Hop!
Harvey doesn't think fish in Mrs H's water is a good idea and he offers to eat the fish for you, just to be on the safe side, you understand.
ReplyDeleteI hope Mrs.H has dried out by now. It seems you are working very hard at getting her fit and back on her feet again. The goldfish is a good idea for keeping her entertained. Maybe you should consider putting mesh over the jug so she doesn't accidentally swallow and choke on it. It will make a tasty snack for you when she is better too.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, that sounds a great idea, though as I drink from that I need access too. May a straw would do?

You are the best caretaker, Erin. We sure hope Mrs H is feeling better now. And as far as the fish, if she doesn't like them, we know you will.
ReplyDeleteAlas I am not a wholefishy girl, though do like fishy treats. Any offers on them – buyer collect ;)

A fish in Mrs. H's water sounds very entertaining, indeed, Erin! Just be careful she doesn't swallow it! :)
ReplyDeleteNo worries I have my fishing rod hand just in case she does ;)

Erin, you show such beneficence by nursing Mrs. H.!
ReplyDeleteIt is a tough life, but well worth the time; I mean who else will make the meals if I don't do it??? ;)

You're such a good little caretaker! Mudpie loves drinking water from glasses/mugs too.
ReplyDeleteIt is what bedside tables and jugs were made for, though definitely does have to be a whisker friendly wide rimmed one for me.

MOL, I bet she would LUV a fish in there!
ReplyDeleteI thought she would but seems like she got quite put off the whole idea when she saw the pond weed I'd added, andthe frog spawn MOL

What a lot of thought and energy you have put into keeping Mrs H. entertained while you dry her out! Of course, one has to make sure one's housekeeper stays fit and well. Good domestic staff are so hard to find these days, aren't they (mol)?
ReplyDeleteThey sure are, especially ones as tough and seasoned as Mrs H– nottat she smells of herbs or anything, MOL

I should like to have you as a nurse should I become bed ridden for a time. Oh wait...I have Katie. But she tends to be a good nurse as opposed to seeing the house in shape. She could learn a lot from you, Erin. I hope she will. I shall leave this up on the screen until she comes by to do her own work on the computer.
