This week I have been really busy doing the corrects resultant from the first round edits of my book – with Mrs H's help to supply tea and nip wafers on an as need basis AKA non-stop, MOL

After a solid seven whole days and nights, I emerged from the other side a better feline. Gone were all the pesky spare and erroneous commas. Banished were my (read as Mrs H's) miss placed EM Dashes, and in came more EN Dashes and a few other things beside.

All good stuff at the end of the day the book is going to be better for it.

Work over, I granted Mrs H a little spare time to herself, and so she ran a little errand for me to Bionic Basil's place in Mewton Clawson. Well she had a right old time chatting and judging by the weaving of the bicycle when she returned and the straggly hair, she'd been at the sherry too. Either that or she managed to get into the fast lane on the motorway/freeway again!

Anyways I did rather let her off when she  presented me with a gift from Basil and his PA. I got my very own fancy, purple trimmed with purple pompom, snuggle mat. If you would like to see a link to her  mat being used by members of the B Team, please click HERE.

The picture above is of yours truly testing out the official snuggle mat...... Mrs didn't think I noticed that Melvyn had been given it a once over as the Teams quality controller, but I did, and soon made sure MY scent was all over it. I can't have Val thinking I have been seeing someone behind his back, now can I!

Having tested my new mat, and given it a four paws up, I decided to hit the sack. So I leave you with another black and white shot. This one Mrs H thinks is like me playing the piano . . . . What do you think?

PS I'm open to testing all and any snuggle mats and the like. Preferably they should come with packs of Felix treats in salmon or mixed flavours.

PPS Mrs H also wants to say that she is open to taste testing sherry, though she can't guarantee you'll get any back, as she does take it all very seriously, MOL

Playing with light.

Hello and welcome to The Sunday Selfies!

This week I thought I would let you all in on a little secret Mrs H and I discovered during our latest portrait shoot. Light not only illuminates but adds substance, texture and depth.

I posed in the early morning light for this shot, but the colours seemed to merge into the background, and all looking a bit overexposed. But when Mrs H tuned into the black and white image........

........things seemed to change.......

....... suddenly the light became a shower of particles—threads of spider silk if you will—frozen in their tracks as they raced past me into the foreground, whilst simultaneously highlighting and defining my face, whiskers and the most delicate hairs along my back.....

This last image is my favourite and encompasses the best qualities—well for me at least—of light and dark, and the motion and stillness of both light and subject . . . . Mrs H also says that we captured intent, and joy, too. Of course, these light and dark things are not new, but sometimes I find there is a moment in time when the obvious, which we have forgotten about, springs to the fore and shines.

Do tell us what you think of the images—which you prefer, and more importantly, what is your favourite technique for capturing striking images. . . . .
