Stand up for Your Self(ie)

Hello and welcome to The Sunday Selfies!

We are joining The Kitties Blue, from The Cat on My Head blog, for the weekly celebration of blogs and bloggers from across the world and across the species.

To join in, get the Linky link code from their website– add it to your page– and enjoy the hop!

And now here is my selfie for the week:-

I do think that as felines, we have a moral duty to not only keep ourselves fit and healthy, but to also to help our companions do too–whether that be through exercising them or making the smile and laugh.

Here in this weeks selfie, you can see yours truly doing a combination of all of the above, by demonstrating to Mrs H how best to do a one-handed handstand. Boy, what fun she had trying this, and burnt off no end of calories. OK so the calories may have been burnt walking to the village A & E department, and the smile may have been more of a grimace–but it was fun to watch.

How do you guys help your companions and those around you keep in tip-top condition?

To see what our pals are up to this week, please go to the Kitties Blue site, or if available, click the links below, and Enjoy the Hop!

  3. That is a very impressive one pawed handstand!
Tell Mrs.H. that she needs to work up gradually to that standard, not dive straight, in or I can see more visits to A & E in her future.

  4. Beautiful handstand Princess Erin! MOL! Tell Mrs. H that unless she's an Olympic athlete, a one-handed hand stand should be left to the cats.

    1. Yes, I agree totally. Plus I do need extra diet items to keep up my exercises, too.

  6. Ooh, Princess, you are a gymnast, too?! You are full of surprises and secret talents! Maybe you could repurr-sent Amer-i-ca in the next Olympic Games?! You could move in with my family and train in O-R-E Gon. What do you say? Tee hee hee. Maybe it's best that Mrs. H. not try to keep up with you when it comes to the athletics, 'cause she might strain herself. Sometimes I think she thinks she has the body of a pussycat and wants to try and keep up with you. But I hope she doesn't try to do any handstands! You might want to set the phone to speed dial 911 (or the UK equivalent) just in case!

    1. Well maybe I best represent both UK and USA, that way I get cream from both sides when I take gold and silver medals.
Nope, handstands are now out of the question, especially when she has her long dresses on ;)

  7. Well done with that one-handed handstand selfie, Erin! And if Mrs. H manages to do that one, she's fare better than us! :)

    1. Thank you, but worry not, Mrs H can't do that. I dare say it would take a rope and pulley set to achieve a similar result, MOL

  12. We keep our hoomons in shape by playing tag. We send Fwank to the litter box at the same time Rabbit is causing Candy and Elly to scream with frustration. The moment the litter box is cleaned, and Rabbit is sent to his room, Opie takes over by shaking his tail at a spot on the wall. This freaks Mom out and as she rushes to see if he sprayed, Jack and Dori will perch hopefully on a nearby table, looking starved. Meanwhile, the rest of of start caterwauling in the kitchen over some mysterious infraction that instantly stops the moment Mom rushes in. All in a day's work.

    1. Ahhh. Looks like I could be missing out on some fun... then again, I wouldn't like there being so many others around who could pinch all my mice. What you need is a housekeeper to keep everyone in order. Mrs H, however, is not available as she is on the chores list for all of the next century, maybe even longer!

    1. I can see your task is way more difficult than mine, Ruby. Worst I have to do is shout orders from the back seat of the car, or to steer the handlebars from the bicycle basket.
Keep up the good work as they surely are worth it :)

    1. Oooh well if you lived here then Mrs H's rigorous diet and exercise schedule would help. Up at 4-5 to feed, then lunch 11 -12. Tea is 3-4 ish and late supper about 8 -9. Of course there is aerobics and games sessions as well as dietary changes to take into account. Well, that's enough about her diet MOL ;)
