Hello and welcome to The Sunday Selfies!
We are joining The Kitties Blue, from The Cat on My Head blog, for the weekly celebration of blogs and bloggers from across the world and across the species.

This week, for the most part, the sun has been shining and I have been enjoying some renewed vim and vigour. Plus it is time to take stock of things here at the palace. Call it an early spring clean if you will, but it necessitates lots of me time doing things for Mrs H–like checking the latest box arrivals, and making sure that for every one that comes in, at least one goes to be recycled.
I was taking a moment in between piles of 'archive material' as Mrs H likes to call it (junk to you and I), to reflect on life and mice, and that nights latest deaded rodent that had dared cross my threshold, when Mrs H grabbed the Box Brownie and started snapping away.
I think it turned out rather well, especially considering said and hitherto unseen by Mrs H deaded mouse evoked a scream seconds later as Mrs H trod on it and dropped the camera! Shame really as I was looking forwards to showing it off the next FWI (Feline Womens Institute) meeting. Still, I suppose given it's current proportions it might make a nice, if somewhat small rug! Waste not want not, as Mrs H likes to say!
What has brought a smile to you this week? Don't be shy, embarrassing moments for your staff will be held in the strictest confidence between me you and the internet, MOL

Great selfie Erin!
ReplyDeleteWhat made me smile - hmmm, well, I liked getting to cuddle wif my momma last nite.
Aww, I bet your staff give you the best cuddles. Mrs H is good at chin scratches and that makes me smile a lot.

That is a very beautiful selfie, Erin.
ReplyDeleteWe have had lovely weather too which is just as well as we went away for a few days. We came back Wednesday evening and the rain started Thursday morning and hasn't stopped since!
It's ever nice to come home to bad weather, but somehow the UK is destined to supply just that for the homeward bound traveller. It always has me.

That is a wonderful selfie Mouser Princess!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I was rather proud of the catch after a 6 hour hunt. Oh well I shall have to try for another one now that I can display somewhere Mrs H wont tread on, MOL

Such a contemplative, wistful selfie, Erin! Sorry Mrs. H. stepped on your deaded mouse. Such a pity, though the FWI might like to see the latest style of mousie rugs. :)
ReplyDeleteHmm, well they would have, but Mrs H took it later and fed it to a hungry crow family in one of the oak trees. Maybe the next one will survive her haphazard feet if I stick it in the fridge?

Hi Erin thanks for your visit to us! We love your funny story, but we want proof!! He he...we are looking forward to seeing that picture. We know how you feel. Once we were chasing a tantalizing mouse. We had it trapped in the closet when our thoughtless human interfered and scooped it up right out of our paws. She said we should be capturing it not just playing with it. Humans understand nothing! Don't worry, you'll get the next mouse, we just know it!
ReplyDeleteHi. I have added the deaded mousie for you. Please feel free to play with this one around your house if you need to, MOL
DeleteI do mislay mine(deliberately of course) but they surface sooner or later and surrender to my will. ;)

Erin that is a great selfie and a wonderful mousie. Just the way we like them, not causing any trouble Hee Hee. Seems one came to our house last week too but we are keep who got him from Dad.
ReplyDeletePurrs Princess
I have to agree, a quiet mousie is way less disturbing in the night.
DeleteOooh you had your own midnight feast, that is awesome! We'll have to organise one of those bring a cheese mouse and wine evening!

Poor mousie :( Sounds like you had a very busy week!
ReplyDeleteMost definitely NOT poor mousie. That fiend kept Mrs H up from 10pm till 4am one day. Thats 6 hours whn she could have been doing some work for me and getting a nap ;)

Any mouse in the house is fair game, Erin!
ReplyDeleteIt is that. Of course it id get sidetracked by a person or person unknown and end up here. But it must have been up to no good anyway, I mean what sort of decent mouse goes out after dark?

ERin
That's SOOOOO cool. I wish a mouse would come into my house. I only get bugs to kill. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteNever mind, Spitty, I'm sure one will one day and then you'll have a hoot!

ERin

Gorgeous selfie, ERin. Your mouse story reminds me of years ago ... when Kitty left a dead mouse in the front hall. I thought it was a toy and bent over to pick it up ... and it wasn't a toy! She became a mouser, all of a sudden, at age 11. That was the first ... the rest ended up in my bedroom!
ReplyDeleteHmm, any still left there? Having mice to chase is great for the spirit of a cat. Gives us purpose and direction. Maybe get a couple for your team as a treat?

MOL...I would have eaten it, Erin :D You just made me and Granny smile, you and your gorgeous Self💗Pawkisses for a wonderful day🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteNah, this one wasn't really that tasty looking. Well certainly not once it had been stepped on, MOL

Your mouse trophy should have been mounted on the wall for all the neighborhood to envy. Mrs. H. needs a drink. Is it Gin o'clock yet?
ReplyDeleteI wish, but we fed it to the crows as they were less fussy than I ;)
DeletePurrs
ERin
I would have definitely screamed if I found a dead mouse too. Of course, I'd scream louder if I saw a live one! You should have it mounted for your trophy room.
ReplyDeleteWell, if you come across a live on, I can make it and ex, if you want, MOL

The B Team xox
P.S. we'll bring the nip, a new strain, extra potent!
Alas if the mouse was a scratching DJ then all would have been ok. This dude was just after my cheese!
