Just Between You, Me, and the Internet!

Hello and welcome to The Sunday Selfies!

We are joining The Kitties Blue, from The Cat on My Head blog, for the weekly celebration of blogs and bloggers from across the world and across the species.

To join in, get the Linky-Link code from their website– add it to your page– and enjoy the hop!

And now here is my selfie for the week:-

This week, for the most part, the sun has been shining and I have been enjoying some renewed vim and vigour. Plus it is time to take stock of things here at the palace. Call it an early spring clean if you will, but it necessitates lots of me time doing things for Mrs H–like checking the latest box arrivals, and making sure that for every one that comes in, at least one goes to be recycled.

I was taking a moment in between piles of 'archive material' as Mrs H likes to call it (junk to you and I), to reflect on life and mice, and that nights latest deaded rodent that had dared cross my threshold, when Mrs H grabbed the Box Brownie and started snapping away.

I think it turned out rather well, especially considering said and hitherto unseen by Mrs H deaded mouse evoked a scream seconds later as Mrs H trod on it and dropped the camera! Shame really as I was looking forwards to showing it off the next FWI (Feline Womens Institute) meeting. Still, I suppose given it's current proportions it might make a nice, if somewhat small rug! Waste not want not, as Mrs H likes to say!

What has brought a smile to you this week? Don't be shy, embarrassing moments for your staff will be held in the strictest confidence between me you and the internet, MOL

To see what our pals are up to this week, please go to the Kitties Blue site, or if available, click the links below, and Enjoy the Hop!

    1. Aww, I bet your staff give you the best cuddles. Mrs H is good at chin scratches and that makes me smile a lot.

  2. That is a very beautiful selfie, Erin.
We have had lovely weather too which is just as well as we went away for a few days. We came back Wednesday evening and the rain started Thursday morning and hasn't stopped since!

    1. It's ever nice to come home to bad weather, but somehow the UK is destined to supply just that for the homeward bound traveller. It always has me.

  4. Such a contemplative, wistful selfie, Erin! Sorry Mrs. H. stepped on your deaded mouse. Such a pity, though the FWI might like to see the latest style of mousie rugs. :)

    1. Hmm, well they would have, but Mrs H took it later and fed it to a hungry crow family in one of the oak trees. Maybe the next one will survive her haphazard feet if I stick it in the fridge?

  5. Hi Erin thanks for your visit to us! We love your funny story, but we want proof!! He he...we are looking forward to seeing that picture. We know how you feel. Once we were chasing a tantalizing mouse. We had it trapped in the closet when our thoughtless human interfered and scooped it up right out of our paws. She said we should be capturing it not just playing with it. Humans understand nothing! Don't worry, you'll get the next mouse, we just know it!

    1. I have to agree, a quiet mousie is way less disturbing in the night.

    1. It is that. Of course it id get sidetracked by a person or person unknown and end up here. But it must have been up to no good anyway, I mean what sort of decent mouse goes out after dark?

  13. Gorgeous selfie, ERin. Your mouse story reminds me of years ago ... when Kitty left a dead mouse in the front hall. I thought it was a toy and bent over to pick it up ... and it wasn't a toy! She became a mouser, all of a sudden, at age 11. That was the first ... the rest ended up in my bedroom!

    1. Hmm, any still left there? Having mice to chase is great for the spirit of a cat. Gives us purpose and direction. Maybe get a couple for your team as a treat?

  16. I would have definitely screamed if I found a dead mouse too. Of course, I'd scream louder if I saw a live one! You should have it mounted for your trophy room.
