An Inspector (of roofs) Calls!

Hello and welcome to The Sunday Selfies!

We are joining The Kitties Blue, from The Cat on My Head blog, for the weekly celebration of blogs and bloggers from across the world and across the species.

To join in, get the Linky-Link code from their website, add it to your page, and enjoy the hop!

This week I have been doing roof inspection, and chimney examination. You just can't be too careful with these two areas, and time spent inspecting felt roofs, especially the expansion and contraction rates, is never wasted on a hot day, and can aid in the detection of holes that might cause a leak later in winter. As to the chimney, well let's just say that once Mrs H had finished polishing it – and before you ask I DID NOT send her up the inside – Mr Van Dyke could eat his cockles and mussels off it, inside and out. 😇

As a special treat, and because our post lady was on holiday and I couldn't wait for this months issue of the Tuxedo Tattler Magazine I was expecting, I allowed postman to deliver. I kept my eyes on him though, just in case he tried to slip a bill through the letter box at the same time, MOL

I hope you enjoyed these two shots from the palace roof now we are entering the last days of summer. Please do share how you have been spending yours?

  7. We have the same type of chimney for our woodburner so I know Mrs.H had to work very hard at polishing it. You worked equally hard overseeing her work.

    1. Ah well it isn't too high a roof, just 6.5 feet. But high enough for fun and sunbathing . . . in between work that is MOL

  13. Princess, you're looking rather dreamy in your roof palace. As if you're looking back nostalgically at a certain time and place that you once knew. I wonder... because I am lamenting the last days of summer, I wish it could go on longer. So my friends and I are making the most of the last sun puddles. I hope you enjoy yours!

    1. Thanks, Ruby, I aim to get these jobs done asap, just in case we get nasty cold and snowy stuff come in.
The last is my fav pic, too. Mrs H thinks in the first I am showing off my real lioness side, which I reckon I am — unfortunately NO wildemouses were roaming our place that day so I could show you the thrill of the chase and a long satisfied nap, MOL
