Festival Feline

Hello and welcome to The Sunday Selfies!

We are joining The Kitties Blue, from The Cat on My Head blog, for the weekly celebration of blogs and bloggers from across the world and across the species.

To join in, get the Linky-Link code from their website, add it to your page, and enjoy the hop!

This week Mrs H was attending, on my behalf, the Festival of Writing, in York, England. We joined the Jericho Writers group – an international writers group – last year, and have found it an excellent resource, for aspiring and newer writers. They offer professional editorial and critiquing services, as well as an abundance of free info, and courses. The Writers Festival, held at The University of York, is a three-day event packed full of lectures and presentations, all geared up to help writers write better, and get published too.

Having set off Thursday morning, the cycle ride to York – some 100 miles away – was a little fraught, what with all the juggernauts and road fumes. But she did make it just in time Saturday morning, and after sprucing herself up and wiping off the diesel and road muck, was allowed in. All being well they will let her out again too. As it is all downhill, and we are expecting a tailwind, paws crossed she may be home Sunday night.

I have released Mrs H on the basis that she talks to as many agents as possible whilst there, and brings me back at least one present, a mouse, a Yorkshire cream sample, and a book deal. . . . . not necessarily in that order, MOL

In this week's selfie, I can be seen looking for York. Mrs H said it was "Up North", so I have been diligently looking North with a hope of seeing Mrs H coming back to prepare supper. I guess I will have a little while to wait, but it is a task I feel I am more than up for. . . . .

To see what our international blogging pals have been up to this week, be they conferences, lectures or just plain old looking for their suppers, please click the links below, and enjoy the Hop!

    1. I had hoped the mice were free, but apparently there had been a run on (when they heard my representative was coming) and there were none left :(

  6. Mrs. H has a basket or saddlebags to carry back all of that booty, Erin? You'll have to put your pawprint on any contracts!

    1. Well, the gifts were not forthcoming. One name tag (not mine) and a pamphlet, and some left ver sandwiches. Oh, and some laundry and washing up! I was not impressed I can tell you. Still I got my supper on time and had a hostess visit for main meals, so not too bad.

  11. Princess, you look so-o sweet waiting there for Mrs. H. You sent her on a very important mission on your behalf to network with other writers and to make new contacts. I just know it won't be long before you get that book deal you're wanting. I can't wait to hear about all the swag of rich creams and mousies that Mrs. H brings back home to you. And maybe she'll get you magazine interviews. Purr purr purr. Red roses to you my lil' luv.

    1. Thank you Val, at least YOU appreciate my talents and prowess at the pen. Mrs H just did not seem to push hard enough and as to swag– what swag. Not a sniff or a whisker of a mouse and no cream either. Mucho disapointed, I can tell you.
