Selfish and Shameless Generosity and Selfie

Hello, and welcome to another weekend selfie.

This week Mrs H and I have been preparing for . . . .  doing nothing!

That's right, here at the Manor House, we do not do Christmas or Easter and the like but prefer to try and help others as a day-to-day matter-of-fact kind of activity. So all the rush this week has been getting copies of our book out to the local rescue centre for animals in need, so they can sell it and raise funds.

What was hugely satisfying was being able to give them 30 copies to sell and get the full cover value. Hopefully, they all get sold and our donation helps many more cats and dogs in need. Truly this is the best sort of what one would describe as selfish generosity: a warm cosy feeling and good karma in the next life, and the knowledge others benefit in this.

We know many folks do something similar, and not just around Christmas though it is a time when so many sentient beings are left on their own, or out in the cold and hungry.

Also this week we have been liaising with our blogging pals, Kerry & David Barbero and Angel Valentine, to ensure our co-authored book is out there in the world to raise funds for both Kerry & David's rescue charity and our own.

Ann Adamus was so very kind and prepared a wonderful graphic to share and put in our sidebar. Many of you who follow the Cat Blogosphere will have seen this come out a few days ago, and maybe received an email from Ann, too.

Here is the AMAZON LINK to the book

This wonderful pirate feline adventure can now be found, thanks to Terry Frum, on the Shop With Friends section of the Blogosphere website.

Here's a link to that. https://blog.catblogosphere.com/shop-with-friends/

There are a few folks listed, so well worth a look, and if something catches your eye, a purchase to support fellow felines and bloggers.

And heres a link to our own book: Chumley and Hudson Investigate. The king Herod's Affair. AMAZON LINK

Kerry, David, Angel Valentine, Mrs Hudson and I thank everyone who has already bought copies of either of these books. The funds raised are much appreciated.

And if you like the books, please, please do leave a review on Amazon, who are the publishers as well as the sellers. Good reviews will help increase sales and our money for charity.

And now, after that Selfish publicity for great causes, here is a Shameless sleepy Sunday selfie of me.

I was afloat on a grey sea of velour, with the incoming ripples of tufts of white fleecy spume soon to lap at my paws....

Mrs H always says I have far too vivid an imagination and should lay off the late night catnip, MOL

We are joining the Sunday Selfies, hosted by the wonderful Kitties Blue and their mum, Janet Blue, from the Cat on My Head blog in America. Click this sentence to visit Janet Blue's site.

    1. Thank you. I shall tell Mrs H that so she doesn't try to get me to do homework, MOL
We wish you all there in Israel, and all the companions in need there that so many, many folks open their hearts and doors to, a peaceful, happy and healthy holiday.

  2. Princess ERin, it is a wonderful cause to help our abandoned fur friends at the shelters. We do this with food and money at our small humane society. They do cats only, no dogs. Doggies go to the Dog Warden home. The art work is great.

    1. Thank you, and Thank You for helping your local humane society, also. Like minded folk, be they on the Blogosphere or not, who have companions, create much good and thanks from those whose voice is so often overlooked.
We hope you and they have a wonderful festive holiday, full of love, hope and joy.

    1. Yes, a truth for sure. Happiness is elusive and intangible (a big word for a Sunday, MOL). Finding and keeping it, Mrs H says, is the true sign of it's actual worth; things bought with money seldom provide lasting happiness. Simple things, a smile, time spent to talk to or help others even if it tires us, often bring the best rewards in the here and now. That's why I always ask Mrs H to do the pots and pans and housework and gardening. She says a hard days work is the most honest. 🙂💙
May your festive holidays be filled with joy, kindness, hope and love...

    1. Thank you for all the work you do for all the rescue cats in your area. Truly selfless and generous acts of kindness, which will bring great karma and no doubt much joy. And thank you from Kerry and me, for buying the book for more cats in need. I know they will appreciate the hope and kindness and good health it will bring even though they may not realise from where exactly it comes.
May you and all your family have a wonderful, safe and very happy festive holiday season.

    1. It was a strange moment when I realised that is what we, needed to do. Planting the seeds of hope is better than not sowing at all. The rescue centre costs so much to run and my donation is minuscule by comparison.
Have a wonderful, happy, joyous, healthy and love filled holiday.

    1. Thank you, Marjorie, we are so pleased you enjoyed them both. And thank you for helping the cats for adoption at the Neko Ngero Cat Cafe in NZ. Sharing and developing your passion for photography whilst helping the cats there, or the many at home at the same time, is just like Cecilia commented above, and such good karma.
May you, Paul and all the cats have such a wonderful festive holiday.

    1. Whilst we will be having a small nap between meals, we will be working through the festive event as we don't celebrate. Well, to be fair, Mrs H will be doing (slightly) more work than I, on account of the dish washing and typing! 🙂

  13. Dearest Erin! Our Peep has been remiss (and I, Marvelous) believe SLOTHFUL in writing a review and in letting you know we purchased your book. As a matter of fact it was delivered to Casa de Marvelous on December 6th! Mom and I devoured it! We laughed! We cried! We were on the edge of our seats! We LOVED it! Especially the chapter where I saved Erin!
Mom started to write a review...then life jumped in the way...Mom got busy with one of her jobs and did NOT get back to it. Now it is almost a month later...Kozmo and I are standing over Mom (wearing our pirate gear and waving swords) and we shall endeavour to get it written soon. Erin, I love you too bits! Keep being AWESOME! Your #1 Fan Boy Marvelous Marv (and an apologetic Barb)

    1. Hello, Marvelous Marv! Ahh, bless, the work thing for humans does take precedence these days. House work or commercial endeavours must be attended to, at least after feeding the main story writer and creator in the Manor House in my case and Casa de Marvelous in yours.
Anyways, Kerry, Mrs H are grateful for your review. More importantly, we are so, so pleased you loved the action adventure and comedy and with a hint of romance 😉. The joy of reviews is that who knows what movie executive might be reading them at Disney, Pixar etc. Any staring role for your part will of course be offered to you first. With stunt doubles as needed 🙂
Anyways, may your new year bring you much joy. Maybe an adventure or three of your own to put into book form?
      Purrs of appreciation
      ERin 💙💙💙
