Hello, and welcome to our latest selfie Sunday!
This week has, to put it mildly, been extremely wet. Floods and wind abound our small county of East Lambtonshire. Thankfully, since our village of Upper Much-Mousing has slid as far as it can down the nearby hill, and the river was widened many years back, we have been saved any more flooding.
Rain did not deter Mrs H flying off to get supplies, but not by plane. She braved the weather on foot, saying it was easier to dry herself off than the motorcycle or bicycle. Which, save for her unruly hair, was true. She returned from a sortie to Mrs Singh's World Food Emporium (aka the corner shop) with many bags of flour.
The bread making machine is going great guns, and Mrs H is proud of her successful run of 4 perfect wholemeal loaves. So cheap too, and we estimate for a small 400g loaf only 84 pence. And that includes electricity.
Do any of you guys make your own using a machine, and how do you find it?
Here is a very special 'LOAF' selfie!
And because we really would not just leave your with a picture of that bread, no matter how tasty, here is what you really came for, a picture of ME!
However your selfies turn out, be they well done loaves or snoozing, we wish you a dry, rain, wind, and snow-free safe week . . .
Till Laters!
ERin & Mrs H.

Woooo hoooo! Home-made bread is the best, that looks really tasty! Looking furbulous Erin, happy Sunday to mew both!
ReplyDeleteThe loaf has taken a very good selfie and looks yummy! Your selfie is beautiful too. We still have widespread flooding too with so much land under water, and still some blocked roads. It must stop soon, surely?
ReplyDeleteERin it seems that Mrs H made a worthwhile trip to the store. We can almost smell and taste that wonderful loaf of bread through the computer! And you took such a wonderful selfie on sunday. We're doing good here except that it's still bitterly cold when we got more than enough snow on the ground. It's light and fluffy so the children haven't even been able to make snowman because it won't stick together.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous selfie of mewtiful of YOU, ERin!
ReplyDeleteYes, Mummy sometimes makes challot (braided loaves) for the Sabbath (though not with the breadmaking machine, because they need to be braided by hand).
Ha Ha, Erin! You almost had us with the "loaf selfie" but we're glad you included one of you! Our #1 has never tried her hand at making bread, with or or without machine. That loaf does look delicious!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
The Chans
The bread maker, by Panasonic, is so clean and easy. Mrs H feels utterly spoiled by only having to measure ingredients into it then turn on the timer.
DeleteHave a wonder week
ERin
A purrfect loaf and a wonderful cozy selfie sweet Princess!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely selfie, Erin!

ReplyDeleteWe love our breadmaker and have made some good basic loaves in it. Yours looks enviably tasty!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing, and so does the bread!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous hunk of bread! Our Peep used to make bread, but her and Alex don't eat a lot of it and then the bread machine had an unfortunate accident (that included a sink full of water and dirty dishes...and ... it ...expired. ) Mom has not replaced it. However she does use a food processor when she makes Nutmeg's Dog Food! Some kitchen appliences are priceless. We believe our bestest is our George Forman grill...But we digress...It is always awesome to see you dear! Sending you Love! Your #1 Fan Boy Marvelous Marv
ReplyDeleteThe bread looks good, but I am glad you gave us a selfie of adorable you too. I had a bread machine and I tried to use a recipe not meant for it and it bubbled over onto the heating element and that was it for the bread and the machine. XO
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful loaf, indeed (hurrah for Mrs. H.!), and a lovely snoozy selfie of you, ERin. Stay dry and warm, okay? XO
ReplyDeleteWhat a tough lady to brave the elements on foot.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you have supplies and hope you had a great nap to boot. The bread does look delicious.
ReplyDeleteERin, the kitties and I don't know how we missed this post! We do love your selfie, and that is nice bread, too! Meows and purrs from us!
ReplyDeleteOMC that loaf did a great job on its Selfie and it looks delicious too. And you, sweet Purrincess are as awwdorable as effurr. We want to make our own bread too, by hand, Granny just started to make her own healthy cakes again, that also can be used as a slice of breadđ¸Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day to you and your momy toođžđ˝đ
ReplyDeleteI used to use a machine, and made a lot of yummy loaves in it, some were not just 'plain'...my last breads were done by 'hand' and baked in a dutch oven, a type of 'cheat method' sourdough. Our oldest some makes real sourdough bread from scratch...and he sometimes gifts us with a loaf or two, YUM!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a great impersonation of a nice round loaf, Erin. Enjoy a good nap all curled up!
